Besides the Wind Creek Marina, which is convenient for the town, there are two yacht clubs where visitors may sometimes use the moorings as well as a variety of anchoring options.
Anchorage:
Bucuti lagoon/ SE Airport: The most protected anchorage on the island, thus very popular in bad weather. Holding is good.
Surfside Beach/ Airport Anchorage: Good holding in 7 to 9ft if you ensure you are dug into sand. It is a short walk into the town.
Yachts anchoring here should take great care as yachts at anchor have been hit by taxi boats or other locally operated boats not paying attention.
Dinghy Docks:
Request permission to tie your dingy to the Surfside Marina dock or the Renaissance Marina dinghy dock. Garbage can be disposed at the compactor south of the conference center.
Marinas:
From Barcadera Port of Entry, the mandatory clearance stop when arriving in Aruba, going North:
Varadero Aruba Marina & Boatyard: The only Boatyard in Aruba and the largest Marina with about 15 visitors' wet berths and hundreds of spots on land. Haul-out only by Roodberg trailers, up to 80 tons. Fuel dock, water, electricity, restrooms, restaurant.
Bucuti Yacht Club, next to Varadero Aruba Marina & Boatyard, is exclusively for members. No room for visiting yachts.
Wind Creek Marina, the second largest Marina with about 12 visitors' wet berths, is located inside of Oranjestad's Harbor next to the cruise ship dock. The entry to the Marina is at 12 31.014' N 70 02.348' W. If you wish to go here, call them after clearance has been completed on VHF channel 16 (office hours 0800-1800 except on Sundays and Holidays). Multiple restaurants on site or nearby, restrooms, pool.
Down the coast from Barcadera Port of Entry, near Spanish Lagoon, is:
Aruba Nautical Club, which has berths, fuel, water and electricity. Members of other yacht clubs may use the facilities, but should check in advance. Very limited availability.

At Super Food, we agreed with the Johan Klein – the Store Manager (P: (297) 522-2000 M: (297) 597-5550 F: (297) 587-7078 E: johanklein@superfoodaruba.com) that they would deliver to the boat. We, and another couple from another boat, bought four trolley loads of provisions and paid for it. The store transported it to the marina for us. Cold items were transported in the air conditioned cab. Great service. Well worth asking.
Nov 2017 – Varadero marina in Aruba is a very good place to haul out the boat, and to leave it for the season.
Good things:
1.Out of Hurricane belt
2.Very professional at the yard, all lifting/launching operation was carefully managed
3. Reasonably priced
4.Close to the airport
5.A good bar/restaurant in the marina.
Not so good:
1. A little bit far from the city and the shops, you must rely on a taxi (expensive), a bus (very few during the day), or your dinghy: in five minutes through the lagoon, you will be at Reinassance Hotel/harbour in the city centre.
2. Rats in the yard, when leaving the boat do not leave any ropes from the deck to the ground, or your anchor chain dangling.
3. The place is close to the airport, so noise and gas smell are dominant.
Electrics and electronics
I would highly recommend Rob Fijn from Radio Holland for any electrical or electronics. I tried many tradesmen from Grenada to Aruba to fix problems I was having with my Garmin system but no luck.
He came to the rescue even when his family were visiting from Europe and sorted everything. Thanks, Rob things are running perfectly again.
