Jolly Harbour - Transport & Travel

Public Minibuses

These are one of the most efficient and cheapest ways of getting around locally in Antigua when the time is not important. Catch them from outside the entrance to Jolly Harbour on the main road. To get anywhere you have to go into St John’s first, then out to your final destination. Buses run until “late” - around 10pm or 11pm.

Buses number 20 and 22 go to St Johns (EC3 p/p each way - 2023).

Bus number 17 goes to English Harbour from St Johns.

Airports

V C Bird International Airport is situated 5 miles northeast of St Johns and is approximately a 30-minute taxi ride from Jolly Harbour.

Care Hire

If hiring a car, a local license will be required (purchased from Hire Company).

Taxis

From the bottom of the Marina Office steps, see the Taxi dispatcher. Agree on the fare in advance and check if in US$ or EC$. Can be booked, although not easy as they operate a queuing system for jobs. Very reliable for early morning airport transfers.
