Based on our recent experience visiting the Andaman Islands, we wanted to summarize the procedures to create an easier and more comfortable check-in experience for us sailors and officials. It is not necessary to use an agent – all Officials are polite and friendly and speak English, please be the same. You will also need to be patient and you can expect to spend at least a day for both inward and outward clearance.
We did not need an Agent and only had to pay the equivalent of 5 USD. t is a very nice stop on the way to the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
Port Blair is still the only port of entry for the Andaman Islands and vessels are still required to submit an itinerary of the islands they wish to visit and to keep a logbook of their voyage to be submitted to the Harbour Master.
