Turks and Caicos Yachting Essentials

Electricity

Voltage: 120 V

Frequency: 60 Hz

Converters and adapters are required for 220V visitors.

Connections are available at the marinas.

Fuel

Marinas in the Turks and Caicos typically provide either ultra-low sulfur diesel or low sulfur diesel, depending on the site. Gasoline or petrol is typically ethanol-free in the larger marinas while smaller sites may only have typical automotive gasoline, which could contain ethanol.

Fuel is usually clean and of a high quality at marinas in the TCI.

Fuel berths available at:

South Bank Marina (Providenciales), Turtle Cove Marina (Providenciales), Heaving Down Rock Marina - Walkin Marina (Providenciales), Seaview Marina (Cockburn Harbour, South Caicos), Blue Haven Marina (Leeward, Providenciales), South Side Marina (Providenciales).

Repairs/Marine Supplies

Some repairs at Windward Marina (Ambergris Cay)

At Cockburn Town, Grand Turk, MPL Enterprises have some marine supplies and spare parts and they also undertake engine repairs.

At Providenciales is the Southbank Marina and Boatyard, formerly the Caicos Marina and Shipyard. They can do haulouts and have made extensive renovations to the marina. Most repairs can be found in the town. There is a well-stocked marine store also.

Anchoring

All vessels greater than 60 feet (18 m) in length will require an Anchoring Permit, which is valid for 30 days and can be obtained from the Department of Environment and Maritime Affairs (DEMA) and some of the larger marinas.

For larger vessels with drafts above 8 feet (2.5 m), the choice is a bit more limited to permanent moorings off Grace Bay and the Bight Beach, off Parrot Cay, and off Malcolm's Road Beach near Amanyara Resort.
