Clearance Formalities for Nevis

Yachts should pick up the yellow quarantine buoy off the ferry dock.

Customs, Immigration and the Air and Seaport/Port Authority are all located upstairs in the 2-story building immediately to the right of the ferry dock entrance (the Cotton Ginnery – see a photo taken by SY Aquarius).  Hours of operation are:  Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600 and Saturday and Sunday from 0900 to 1300. You will need to provide the Online Immigration and Customs Entry Form if checking in here.

Visit Customs first, then Immigration, then the Port Authority and finally back to Customs.

Moorings can be paid for at the Port Office and can be extended if staying longer than planned.

Coastal mooring permits must be obtained prior to visiting other areas around the coast of Nevis.

Nevis Moorings – safety check reminder

When checking into Charleston, Nevis, the Air and Seaport Authority collects several fees, including one for mooring usage, regardless of whether you utilize their moorings or anchor.

A recent visitor reports that he picked up a mooring with a new looking pennant, but that when he dove to check it, he found the underwater section badly worn, with barely a thread remaining.

He dove several others and did find they seemed to be in good order. The captain sent an email to Sea and Ports but received no response.
