Simpson Bay Clearance for Yachts

See the main Sint Maarten Clearance page for full details on clearance procedures.

General Procedure for Simpson Bay

After docking in the lagoon skippers should immediately come to the free clearance dinghy dock by Simpson Bay Bridge, adjacent to the channel into Simpson Bay Lagoon.  It may be wise to securely lock your dinghy and outboard while undertaking clearance formalities, even for a short time as thieves are active in the area.  Lock it or Lose it!

Immigration and Port Clearance are located in the Police Station adjacent the channel into Simpson Bay Lagoon.

The Customs and Immigration office at the police station next to the Simpson Bay bridge is open 0700-2000 seven days a week. The port office for paying fees is open 0830-1200, 1330-1630 seven days a week. Opening times do vary depending on the season.

Bring bridge, clearance and mooring fees and your crew list, passports and vessel registration.
