New Zealand dollar (NZ$) is the legal tender.
There are no restrictions on the import or export of local or foreign currency.
There are electronic payments and EFTPOS facilities on Niue.
There is no facility for currency exchange here, but “Kiwibank” provides NZ cash withdrawals up to a maximum of $NZ1000 per day on VISA and MASTERCARD only. There is a 3% surcharge for this service.
There is no ATM on the island.
Most restaurants, Liquor Bond store, supermarkets, and the Niue Yacht Club accept the above cards as well.
It is best to bring NZ dollars.
