This is a Port of Entry.  For full details on clearance formalities go to Mayotte Formalities.

Clearing in:

Recent cruiser reports indicate checking in at the airport is possible and the process is fast and easy.  The gendarmerie will stamp your clearance form which must then be emailed to the local Harbormaster (the address is on the form).  Apparently no customs visit is required even though there is a space on the form for customs information.

Clearing out:

Fill out the Outward Declaration form and go to the airport to get immigration to stamp the form and passports. No customs visit is required. The form has to be emailed to the Harbormaster who will issue a Maritime Clearance form via email. Turnaround turn is usually within a day.

Note:  Attached is a copy of a Clearance form provided by cruisers who visited in 2023 which they offered as a guide for anyone intending to visit Mayotte.

There is reportedly no cost for clearing in/out of Mayotte here.
