Roatan (Coxen Hole) - Clearance

May 17, 2024

See Honduras Formalities for full details of clearing into and out of Honduras.

Port Clearance is done in Coxen Hole.

Latest reports are that clearance here for yachts is much improved and easy. English is spoken and the system much more efficient than in the past.

It's an easy walk between Immigration and the Port Captain.

The Port Captain's office is at this Google Maps link.

Cruisers report that:

  • Immigration will want to see passports, plus your original exit zarpe and will want to keep one copy of the zarpe.
  • The Port Captain does not require copies of anything.

If Customs and Immigration officials in Coxen Hole are busy with cruise ships, yacht skippers can check in at Utila.
