      Cruisers report that Gib has the cheapest fuel in the Med – price reported last week was 95 cents a litre. But you can find fuel prices online easily to compare Gib and Ceuta etc.
      It is possible to visit Gibraltar to refuel without clearing-in. Be sure to fly the Gibraltar courtesy flag from the starboard spreader. The Gibraltar fuel dock is signed ‘CEPSA’, it’s very easy to access and easy to dock. There are marineros to help you tie up.

    Stayed here 1 night 22nd Oct 2018 in Marina Bay. Only cost £15.75 for a 14m x 4m motorboat – apparently summer rates are £147 per night and the marina office said we were accidentally undercharged. Helpful staff met us to help berth, fully serviced pontoons with water and electricity (only about £4.50 for the E+W which was great).

    Sheppards Chandlery were extremely helpful and prices were good. (Bought 10 x 20 litre jerry cans for £177 and a Gill cap for just £6.00) helpful and knowledgeable. Diesel available in abundance at just 0.61 per litre (!). No need to call ahead- just arrive at the fuel dock round the corner.

    Gibraltar is a busy busy place and you need to keep your wits about you when entering or leaving. Marina office is very nice, helpful staff, computerised entry procedure and no customs issues whatsoever. Loads of bars and restaurants – we went to Morrisons to stock up – British goods are expensive compared to domestic UK prices. Would visit again even if we were charged full summer rates as the low diesel price saved us several hundred pounds – literally half the price compared with Almeria and Alicante. Marina is right next to runway and a large cruise ship turned into a permanent hotel.

    Gibraltar,
    Marina’s are expensive and usually full even in winter. I was not allowed to moor in a free spot on 25th of December due to the Marina being closed for Christmas holidays.

    Diesel is Euro 0.58 a litre. I did not find the supposedly duty free shopping cheap, buying in Spain is for most items cheaper.

    It is no longer possible to lift out a boat weighing more than 5 tonnes at Sheppards/ Ocean Village. I found Alcadeisa very helpful. I asked Sheppard for help with splicing rope – they told me they cannot splice;

    I asked for help diagnosing a fault on an obsolete piece of Raymarine kit (they are the agents after all) and they refused to help, saying that they do a diagnosis by substitution and as they have no relevant parts in stock, they cannot help. What sort of rigger cannot splice? What sort of electronics engineer cannot trace a poor connection?

    Stayed at Queensway Quay a week. Dean and the team couldn’t be more helpful. Ideas about restaurants, The Rock and how to get around Gib. Service at this marina has obviously improved recently based on the other posts.

    I quite agree. I stayed two nights and left for Marina Bay. A large marina is under construction in the harbour, due for completion in 2016.

    Just returned from Gibraltar. Berthed at Queensway Marina but left after 1 night due to rude and unhelpful management. Instead went to Alcaidesa Marina at La Linea just around the corner. Really friendly and professional marina with good facilities. Recommended

    For provisioning, I recommend the Morrisons, near the hospital, or the Eroski which opened recently which is just over the runway.

    Also for laundry service Suds laundry service, +350-200-73123 picks up and returns the next day from the marinas.

    There seems to be a new marina to be projected, located between Queensway and Marina Bay. Consequently, it was named Mid-Harbour-Marina on the construction sign/building-blackboard I saw. As of 09/2014, this board is still the only trace of the marina but the picture shows it as at least as large as all the three other marinas together.
