See French Guiana Formalities for detailed clearance information.

Customs and immigration are not easily found in the industrial area of the main harbour. As local public transport or taxies are not available you will have to try your luck at getting a ride.

The customs office is on Rue de Charles de Gaulle. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months. The friendly officer will make a copy of your passport(s) and ship’s papers. The procedure is quick, simple and free of charge. See this report for detailed directions to the office.

No formalities required. We asked the customs and they said they did not expect us to check in. Same with immigration. They just don’t care. We anchored to the north of the Yatcht Club. Holding was good. We left the dingy at the Yacht Club’s pontoon, the security guy was ok with it.

Reserve well in advance if you want to visit the Space Center (you can’t miss it).

Provisioning is okaish, fruits and veggies at the farmer’s market are very expensive (especially after you get used to Brazilian prices).

You can also anchor out in front of Ile Saint-Joseph
