The airport lies 8km SE of the city. A taxi will take 15-20 minutes and should cost no more than 40LE. Drivers always prefer to paid in sterling or in US dollars.
Alexandria's yellow-black taxis are a good and cheap way to travel around the city. No trip between any two points in the city should cost more than 15LE.
Trains to Cairo depart from the Cairo Station, Nabi Daniel St. There is an hourly service and the express and Turbo trains take just over 2 hours.
Alternatively, air-conditioned buses are run by several companies. Leaving Alexandria at about 7am
