Where is Alexandria?

The Port of Alexandria is located on the western edge of the River Nile delta, about 150 NM west of the entrance to the Suez Canal. It is one of the oldest ports in the world (its lighthouse was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world). Nowadays, it is Egypt’s largest and most important commercial port. It is a busy, crowded place.
