St. John’s - Customs

Sep 05, 2022

Description:

St. Johns has been closed to private yachts since Spring 2021 for clearance.

St. Johns is the capital and principal port for Antigua and Barbuda. Popular with cruise ships, the affluent cruise ship terminal shopping center with its designer boutiques and jewelry shops contrasts sharply with the dilapidated yet colorful city surrounding it.

Entrance Notes and Cautions:

Dredging operations St John, Antigua (January 2021): There is a sand-sucker dredger in the St John area which makes several excursions offshore daily to dump dredged materials. It is restricted in its ability to manoeuvre at all times even when motoring and should be given a wide berth. Distinguishing Features; day-glow orange accents.

Position:

17° 07'38"N, 61° 52'07"W (harbor entrance)
