Luc Callebaut and Jackie along with their three dogs have been heading for French Polynesia “the other way” – having left the Phillipines in 2025 to head eastwards.
In their latest Video diary – Sailing from Philippines to Tahiti – Luc covers the first part of the fourth leg of their journey.
All about the Weather
Was our advanced weather forecast accurate? What weather did we really have and was it expected? We are using Predict Wind’s new Departure Tool to help us sail in good conditions during our sailing passages from Philippines to Tahiti, with Bob McDavitt as an extra ace before long and crucial passages.
On our way from Noro in the Solomons, we traveled across all of the Solomons to check out of Lata. From there we sailed direct to Santo to clear in to Vanuatu as Sola was not open for check-ins. We had to be very patient in Santo to get the right conditions to sail to Port Vila. This video was filmed from May to November 2025 and our next video will cover leg five of our journey from Vanuatu to Tonga.
