The island’s drinking water is supplied by both desalination plants and by treating local supply. It’s considered potable—but ask before use.

LPG Gas can be filled in Cruz Bay (St John) and at Charlotte Amalie.

St. Thomas: Independent Boat Yard in Benner Bay has a marina and boatyard with 50 Ton travel lift
St Croix Marine Center: full-service boatyard has a 60-ton Travelift /rail lift capable of lifting monohulls and catamarans up to a 25ft beam.

There are public moorings (blue-striped buoys) set up by The Reef Ecology Foundation of St. Thomas and St. John. Use is free but restricted to boats less than 60'. Tel (340)775-0097 for more information.
VIPCA, a USVI non-profit, in partnership with the USVI government is well underway in installation of 200 Helix-type moorings throughout the USVI.
The 100 overnight-use Moorings are available for $35 / night. These moorings are suitable for vessels up to 65ft and stays of up to 14 days are permitted. The buoys are white with a reflective blue stripe and an orange Boaty Ball sticker. These moorings appear blue in the BoatyBall Web App.
Day Use Only Moorings are in popular dive sites and have a reflective yellow stripe on them. These moorings appear yellow in the BoatyBall Web App. Donations of $10 to the organizations that maintain these moorings are requested.

BoatyBall cover much of the BVIs and USVIs. All of their moorings are branded and can be paid for online in the BoatyBall Web App. The USVI mooring are on a first-come-first-served basis.
If you plan to anchor in a designated anchorage for 14 days or more in a six month period you'll need an anchoring permit from the DPNR office. Alternatively, moving to a new bay or harbor restarts the 14 days count.
