Singapore - Security

Jan 17, 2025

While there have been no reported attacks against private or recreational vessels, a General Warning issued in December 2019 indicating a sudden rise in attacks in the Singapore Straits especially during the night is still valid as incidents are still occurring.

However, all reported incidents to date have been on commercial vessels such as container ships and bulk carriers.  All vessels are advised to remain vigilant when moving through Singapore waters.

Current information is available from the IMB Piracy Reporting Centre.
