Port Tomis (Constantza) - Docking

Aug 01, 2017

Take care to keep at least 1NM off the coast as the water is shallow close in.

This is an all-weather harbor and safe in winds from any direction. The port has substantial breakwaters, but the entrance can be difficult to see until almost upon it, especially when arriving with the sun setting in the west. Use extra care and attention when arriving in strong S or SE winds.

The marina is in the old harbor north of the commercial port of Constanta and consists of four floating pontoons. At the northern pontoon (A), the depth is four meters on the southern side and two meters on northern side. 'B' is deep both sides. Call Contantin Sailing on VHF 16 for help and advice on mooring.

There is no security, the entire area is open to the public.

Fuel is reported to be difficult to acquire.

The marina is reported to be relatively expensive and shallow. There is an anchorage near a beach protected by a breakwater just north of Constanta.
