The harbour is open to the northeast.
There are plenty of guest berths on the pontoons here. The town berths have showers and laundry facilities.
There is also more berthing to the south at the head of Harstadbotn including a sheltered private pontoon with space for two yachts to overwinter.
The town has good shops.
