Description:

Mamoudzou is the largest city and capital of Mayotte, a French overseas territory located in the Indian Ocean. Mamoudzou was settled in the Grand-Terre, an area on the main Mayotte island. Almost 30% of the overall population of Mayotte  - nearly  60,000 inhabitants - live in Mamoudzou.

Cruiser Highlights:

Situated on Grand Terre, opposite the clearance port of Dzaoudzi. There is a frequent ferry service between the two ports. Mamoudzou has better shoreside facilities, chandleries/repair service companies etc. however Dzaoudzi is better protected from a mooring point of view.

12° 46.74'S, 45° 14.13'E (outside marina)
