The fresh produce market on Marine Drive on the waterfront has mainly coconuts and bananas. There is also a fish market nearby.
For fresh produce, one should try Fantasy Supermarket on Fareedhee Magu (though selection varies from day to day).
Happy Market on Ameenee Magu has three floors of refrigerated containers filled with meat, cheese, and vegetables. It is a wholesale supplier for resorts but you can also turn up there in person and buy food (though some unit sizes are considerable!).
STO People’s Store on Orchid Magu is good for staples.
