Ventspils is easily reachable by bus from Latvia's capital, Riga. There are bus services which travel the whole of the Baltic coast towards Lithuania.
The No. 20 taxibus runs from just behind the yacht club (it is necessary to raise your hand to request it to stop) Service roughly two an hour. Timetable will be given to you by the harbor office on request (they will also give you a map of Ventspils)
Car hire available, also taxis.
