Description:
Located in the Gulf of Riga, about 15NM west of the city of Riga. It is the resort destination for Riga. It stretches along the winding Lielupe River and is known for its wooden, art nouveau seaside villas and its long, sandy beach.

Depths in the mouth of River Lielupe is subject to changes due to silting and sand waves.
