Kilifi - Clearance

Harbor fees and clearance charges can vary from port to port in Kenya, however, cruisers report that clearance at Kilifi Boatyard is simple and straightforward and recommend this as a port of entry.
Contact Kilifi Boatyard before arrival (see contact details below under Docking). They can arrange for Immigration and Customs to come to their premises to deal with the formalities.
Customs (Kenya Revenue Service) have an office in Kilifi (they also act as Harbour Master in this port) and Immigration is in Malindi, an hour and a half away by road.
If coming from Tazania, Shimoni is the more convenient place to clear in.
