Lahaina - Fuel & LPG

Aug 11, 2023

Propane is available but requires a taxi trip.

Although there is a fuel facility at the north end of the harbour, the arrangements for getting fuel from here are a little torturous. First go to the yacht club (office hours 08:30-12:00, Mon-Fri) to place a deposit and collect a fuel card. Return to the fuel berth and fill up. Take the receipt and card back to the yacht club, pay the amount required and collect the deposit.

An added complication is the 30-minute time limit allowed at the fuel berth when the fueling alone can take 30 minutes. The best solution is to go to the yacht club first by dinghy and then return to move the yacht to the fuel berth.

An alternative is to fill jerry cans at a fuel station ashore. Unfortunately, the nearest one to the marina does not have diesel.
