Guinea-Bissau - Money

Nov 03, 2025

The unit of currency is the West African CFA franc.

ATMs in Guinea-Bissau are very rare and credit cards are not generally accepted.

It is advisable to have Euros in cash although it is possible to exchange GBP.  Cruisers who have visited the country advise withdrawing cash from ATMs if stopping in Senegal.

Note:  Google maps shows an ATM in Bubaque, but cruisers report that this doesn't exist anymore.
