Kalundborg - Local Customs

Description: 

The Port of Kalundborg is located at the bottom of Kalundborg Fjord on Zealand next to the Great Belt. The T-route passes close to the entrance to the fjord and all major shipping that is to enter the Baltic Sea and the Baltics passes here.

The Port is both a local port for West Zealand's industry and a versatile regional port for the whole of Zealand due to its uniquely large water depth of up to 15 meters and ice-free all year round.

Entrance Notes and Cautions:

  • The harbor can be quite turbulent, as there is a lot of traffic with ferries, pilot boats, etc.
  • The harbour speed limit should be observed. Maximum 5 knots.
  • Visiting yachts should keep a listening watch on VHF, channel 16, for harbour traffic movements.
