Anchoring is not permitted without the express permission of the PM/HM. This is done in order to protect the coral and to stop anchors fouling on the ground tackle for commercial mooring buoys.
The use of mooring buoys is mandatory, unless otherwise authorised by the PM/HM.
For safety reasons, yachts are recommended to time their arrival during daylight hours. Night arrivals are not advisable.
Generally, there are four to five moorings available, year-round, for yachts. Rafting up on the moorings is allowed during suitable conditions with the prior approval of the PM/HM.
Mooring fees are payable at AUD $10 per night or AUD $50.00 per week (7 days).
Mooring fees must be paid prior to departure! Credit card facilities are not available in the Port office.
