Bermuda - Transport

May 30, 2025

There are no hire cars on Bermuda, but taxis are plentiful.

All taxi drivers are self-employed but the taxis are metred with rates set by the government. After midnight surcharges apply and drivers usually only accept cash (Bermuda $). Rates can be found at the following website: Bermuda Taxis - Fares And Rates, Taxi Companies

Scooters and mopeds are a useful way of getting around and there are several rental companies. You will need to show photo ID and wear a helmet (included in the rental).

Bermuda's "pink" buses are a great way to get around. You can buy a book of bus tickets at the post office. See the bus schedule at Driving and Transportation | Government of Bermuda.

Ferries run from Hamilton, Dockyard, St. George's, Rockaway and from Hamilton to the South shore. Schedules at Ferry Service.

The Shorelink App for Bermuda's Public Transportation | Government of Bermuda can be used for purchasing tickets for buses and ferries. The ticket must be activated before boarding. The driver checks the code.
