Corvo (Port) - Docking

May 31, 2023

Corvo does not have a marina, just an anchorage at the southern end of the island.

It is possible to anchor in the shelter of the harbour wall, or if no boats are expected to tie alongside the wall. However, there is invariably a swell in the harbour and although holding is reasonably secure it is at best a fair-weather anchorage.

Visiting boats should not be left unattended because of the poor anchorage conditions and weather instability.

On many days of the year here, no boats whatsoever (including local fishing boats and ferries) can neither leave nor enter due to the difficult conditions.

There is a pier for the ferries, but no facilities for yachts.
