On the evening of the 23 August, 2011, between 19:30 and 20:00, five men boarded French catamaran “Bikini”, with a French couple on board, and assaulted the crew. The boat was anchored off the most important hotel in the city, the Hotel Concorde.
The crew fired an emergency flare which alerted ONSA who went to their assistance. However, the attackers got away with cash and electronics.
Following the attack, the captain of “Bikini” was in a serious condition and the couple was transferred to the military hospital for treatment.
