Hoping to sail out of the Marshall Islands in August. Would like advice on the fastest/safest route to hit the west coast – any place on the coast will do!
Not easy!
Quickest is to head N pick up prevailing westerlies, and go that way staying above the N Pacific high.
Otherwise go south just N of the equator to pick up counter-current and sail that way to the Line Islands then head N for Hawaii. From there go around N Pacific high to hit W coast – long and boring.
