Details:
A motor-sailor liveaboard was anchored near several other vessels of all types in the central Sorong harbour area (opposite the main landing point at Usaha Mina).
The outboard motor – which seems not to have been secured with a safety chain or lock – was removed from the dive tender which was on a long painter and deployed astern of the mother vessel.
A light on the dive tender may have been a deterrent.
