Owners left their dinghy chain-locked to the small dinghy dock at the southwestern end of anchorage “C” in Spanish Waters during daylight hours.
On their return – less than an hour – later they found that the 20HP Yamaha outboard that had been padlocked to the dinghy had been stolen.
The police took a report but did no forensics.

DETAILS: A dinghy was cable locked to the dinghy dock at the Fisherman’s marina in Spanish Waters. When the owners returned at 2130 , the cable had been cut and the dinghy was adrift 30 meters away. The cable also secured the fuel tank, which was stolen. There is a security guard on premises who sits adjacent to the dinghy dock. When queried, he reported that earlier someone had taken several tanks and he recorded the license plate of the vehicle. When asked by the victim, he called the police and reported the license number of the vehicle involved.
