We need to get courtesy flags for the South Pacific. Does anyone have a good source for flags, or better yet flag kits?

We picked up some large 3’ x 5’ flags for $4.95 each online (http://www.flagshipper.com/). Shipping was only $8 for all 12 of the flags we ordered. While they were not the most durable of flags (grommets rusted and some ripped through the flag) they were perfect for a month. I only wished that we had ordered two or three of our home country flag as it has been six months and is not in great shape. The flags were much larger than the others in the marinas we visited and really stood out.

We have bought regularly from http://flags-by-swi.com/worldflags1.html

Printed, 2 x 3′ flags…buy ten (assorted) and get a huge price discount. They last a couple of months in the tropical sun. Locals seem to love when we have a BIG flag up. This same vendor also sells blank flags (I just noticed) which is a great way to have a backup supply of flag stock on which you can make your own. Buy yourself some Crayola fabric markers for making designs on flags (such as the Polynesian flag or the Marquesan flag) for regional flags you probably won’t find available from most flag suppliers.

Anne Timmins in La Cruz makes them up for the cruisers departing every year. She has a reasonable price list and is very reliable. You can contact her at [email protected].

We purchased packages of flags ... however, it seems to be old style ... some fly them and some don't ... we eventually decided not to ... no one seems to care really ... I think the world is getting smaller !
