Bad Fuel in Nassau

Those of you headed to the Bahamas should be aware of a report recently posted on the Bahamas Explorer Yahoo Group:

We were just in Nassau and hear about a great deal at Brown’s boat basin at $3.80/gal diesel. So we pulled up and got word of the 15 cents/gal surcharge for use of our credit card. We were told that the diesel was checked twice daily for water and now I know why. On a very rough passage across the banks to Ships Channel Cay, I had to drain the Racor every half hour of both water and dirt. I just wanted to warn everyone not to stop at Browns. There’s a Texaco right next door.

Report filed by Steve Cornwell, Mystique (C and C Landfall 43).
