Statia (St. Eustatius) Arrival Procedures for Yachts
General Procedure
Clearance is reported to be easy and straightforward with all offices close to each other.
On arrival proceed to Oranjestad, the Port of Entry, with the Q and courtesy flags flying. See Oranjestad for anchoring details. Note: the mooring balls for the small tugs have 20m+ of floating line so use caution, especially at night!
Call St Eustatius Seaport on VHF Channel 16 with your notice of arrival.
Once you receive clearance to come on-island, take your dinghy to the main pier (on the right hand side as you enter the harbour). There is a dinghy section on the NE side of the dock. Tell the guard and pass through to Customs and Immigration.
Customs and Immigration are based at the head of the main town dock (see the large “Customs” sign). The office is normally open 08:00-16:00, although there is often someone around out of hours.
Immigration will want to see all crew members for check-in and check-out procedures, so all crew should go ashore for formalities.
The Port Authority is next door – here you will pay your harbor fee (by the night or week) – and the Marine Park environmental fee.
For details of entry costs see Fees. Authorities prefer payment via debit/credit cards rather than cash.
Statia (St. Eustatius) Departure Procedures for Yachts
Departure procedures are the same as arrival procedures. All crew should go ashore to clear out with Immigration. Authorities typically allows for same day check-in / check-out for very short (1-2 day) stays.
The exit declaration can be made up to 24 hours in advance of departure.

Arrived April 23, 2022.. followed pre arrival procedures on Noonsite.. after anchoring we proceeded to the commercial dock just inside the jetty at the far south of the Harbor.. There is a dingy section on NE side of the dock. Visit the guard house. You will then be sent to Customs and Immigration just opposite the guard house. Told we can check out 24 hrs in advance. Everyone was super nice and inviting. Cheers!
Fogot to add.. while waiting on Customs paperwork, the Health Dept stopped to see our vaccination cards which had been previously submitted online.. Simple and easy. 🙂

No National Park Moorings to be seen now though the holding seems good and the Harbour Authority’s check-in/out fees are now at $35 (for two people on a 35′ yacht). Contrary to the Doyle Pilot Guide you can now clear out up to 24-hours before departure and you’d be well advised to do so; whilst posted Office hours are 08:00-17:00, we found that 09:30 to 15:30 were nearer to the actual hours.
