On arrival, a complete health declaration must be made.
If you’re on prescription medication, make sure you bring enough with you or have access to a supply in China. However certain medicines may not be available so you should check with your GP and the Embassy of China before traveling.
Healthcare is not provided free of charge in China and medical bills can be high. Medical evacuation from China is very expensive. Comprehensive insurance covering healthcare and medical evacuation is essential.
Many hospitals do not accept international bank or credit cards; deposits and medical treatment may be required via either a domestic bank account or cash payment.
Travelers should consult the CDC Travelers’ Health website for the most current vaccine recommendations.
