Update September 2021:

US CUSTOMS ROAM Application Changes: CBP ROAM (Reporting Offsite Arrival) mobile app is being updated with features for foreign private vessels. Foreign private vessels will be able to complete online Cruising Permits and online Port of Call. Approval will be via ROAM. The planned September 2021 upgrade may require a reload of ROAM as it is a new version, but user data will not be impacted (per CBP).
CBPOne Transition Delayed to Winter 2021/22.

Original Article:

The new CBP One™ mobile application was launched in October 2020.   Reporting your arrival for small pleasure boats has been available through the CBP ROAM™ application. However very soon, reporting arrivals for pleasure boats will be transitioned to CBP One™ and the CBP ROAM™ application will no longer be available for use. The ability to apply and update a cruising license and Trusted Traveler Program applications will follow in new releases in 2021.

What is CBP One™?

CBP One™ is a mobile application that serves as an intuitive single point of entry for travelers and stakeholders to access CBP services and mobile applications. This free app guides users to the appropriate services based on their needs.

Currently, CBP One™ is available for brokers/carriers/forwarders to make appointments for the inspection of perishable cargo, travelers to apply for and view their I-94s and permission based use for International Organizations (IOs) to verify the status of individuals in CBP Programs. However it will shortly be available for pleasure boaters.

What Does This Mean for Pleasure Boaters?

  • Existing CBP ROAM users will access ROAM services through the free CBP One™ mobile application.
  • All ROAM functionalities will remain the same and users will continue to receive push notifications for status updates on all reports and applications.
  • Users will use the same Login.gov credentials to access ROAM features. Note: This transition will require a one-time re-entry of traveler profile information.
  • CBP One will offer two new features that allows pleasure boaters to apply for a cruising license and report their arrival at a domestic port of call on an approved cruising license.

What are the Benefits of CBP One™

  • A one-stop, mobile application for travelers to access various CBP services and applications
  • Traveler information is securely linked to all CBP One™ features reducing redundant user input
  • Seamless availability of saved traveler information between CBP services/features
  • Expedited traveler processing with cutting-edge technology
