Brand logo change marks a new chapter for Jimmy Green Marine

Few names are as firmly embedded in British boating as Jimmy Green Marine. In 2026, the family-run chandlery is turning a significant page with the launch of a refreshed brand identity and new logo. It marks the first major rebrand in the company’s history, more than 40 years after it was founded.

Established in 1981 by brothers Alistair and Mike Green and their wives, Susan and Carol, Jimmy Green Marine quickly earned a reputation for practical problem solving and a deep understanding of sailors’ needs. Those qualities have shaped the business ever since. Even as materials and technologies in the marine world have evolved, Jimmy Green has served cruising, racing and trade customers worldwide from their base and rigging workshop in Beer, East Devon.

Innovation has always been part of the story. In the mid-1980s, Jimmy Green collaborated with rope manufacturer LIROS to enhance traditional rope construction, resulting in products that have become industry staples, including Anchorplait, Hempline and Hemplait Polyester.

Jimmy Green Marine was also an early digital pioneer. In the 1990s, Mike Green built one of the marine trade’s first bespoke websites, enabling customers to specify and order custom-spliced rope and wire online. This concept laid the groundwork for today’s highly developed online Custom Build service.

A generational transition took place in 2007, when Mike and Carol retired and Alistair’s children, Rebecca and James Green, became partners. This branch of The Green family has emulated Mike and Carol’s extensive nautical experience: James made four appearances at the Laser World Championships and rowed the Atlantic in December 2005; Susan sailed the Atlantic in 2015; and Alistair has sailed across three times – real experience that reinforces the company’s commitment to products that perform when it matters most.

More recently, Jimmy Green Marine has increased its focus on sustainability. The company launched three-strand Green Wave Polyester, a recycled mooring line developed with LIROS Ropes in April 2023; and large improvements in energy efficiency have been achieved following a full carbon-footprint analysis.

Jimmy Green Marine launches its new logo alongside a fully redesigned website, featuring  visual makeover, faster performance and intuitive product search and navigation. Their flagship Custom Build System has been enhanced along with improved account management to improve the customer experience for both retail and trade users.

The result is a confident evolution of a trusted name – one that is looking firmly to the future but remains anchored in the values that have sustained it for over four decades: continuous innovation, insightful sailing knowledge and dedicated personal service.
