Now in its third year, this rally run by the Indonesian Government from Davao in the Philippines offers cruisers great value and an opportunity to visit this stunning cruising area comprising over 1,500 small islands, cays, and shoals.

Following the success of Sail Morotai 2012, and Festival Derawan 2013 (the rally gets renamed every year), this year’s rally departs from Davao, Philippines early September 2014 and cruises around the Raja Ampat islands in West Papua, Indonesia for the month.

Departure Point:

Holiday Oceanview Marina on Samal Island, next to Davao City, Mindanao, Philippines. 07°11’94 N­125°42’ 74 E . See www.HolidayOceanviewMarina.com [BROKEN LINK] for exact location and directions on how to get there.

Dates:

It is recommended to arrive in Samal early August 2014 so you can participate in the festivities of Davao’s famous Kadayawan Festival.

Start of the rally will be on 3 Sept morning with sailing by Davao City.

6-12 Sept: Sangihe > CIQP and festivities

15-18 Sept: Morotai > Free program

21-25 Sept: Waisai (Raja Ampat) > Festivities and free program

After Raja Ampat, participants are free to sail independently or to join other rallies. The details of the festivities and precise program will be communicated when local governments have finalized the plan and details.

Costs:

Free registration.

The costs of a CAIT, custom guarantee and other relevant permits are courtesy of the Indonesian Government. Any costs for your Indonesian Visas, Visa Extensions, Port Charges, additional tours, or on-shore accommodation are not included.

Perks:

The Holiday Oceanview marina offers 2 weeks of free in-water dockage prior to the start of the rally.

Invitation to Game party with numerous prizes as well as kick-off party on Samal.

Free festivities (welcome dinner etc.) organized by Sangihe.
