The Walvis Bay Yacht Club offers temporary membership to visiting yachts, which gives access to the club facilities while visiting. The fee is NAD$550 per person (except children under the age of 12)
All boats will be at anchor, at spaces allocated to visiting boats. There is very limited mooring space (swing moorings) and available moorings will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Please contact the club secretary before your intended arrival so the admin can be done and membership cards prepared.
Visiting yachts that stay for longer than a few days in the anchorage are asked to pay 500N$ per person for the duration of their stay to the yacht club. This includes but is not limited to the following;
WiFi is available at the restaurant, which is family friendly and there is a safe private beach as well. There is also a beach bar with fire pit.
The club advise not to leave valuables in the dinghy, as there is not 24 security to look after your assets.
It is a long walk (about 2-4km depending on which route you take) into town from the yacht club, however, they will tell you the current taxi rate to town and can arrange transport.
Most repairs can be carried out, but specialized parts may have to be ordered and flown in from South Africa.
