Arriving in the evening in a fresh northrly wind I opted for Muxia instead of Camarinas in the northwest of the ria. A very nice surprise to find a modern, easily accessible marina with total shelter, at the cheap price (about half the rates further up the coast at Coruna and Viveiro). Friendly, helpful mariero speaking a little English. Good pontoons, including some for large boats >15m. Showers in a strange container-type building made from a bizarre range of materials – but the facilities are fine. Good laundrette just across the street. Highly recommended.
The town is really off the beaten track, but there is a large supermarket, some tapas bars and restaurants. Lovely walk to the church and lighthouse on the south side of the ria entrance with wonderful sea views.
