Established by the British Royal Navy in 1813 this fort has been restored to its former glory after abandonment for years and will re-open for the summer 2014 season. Restaurant, bar, artist in residence and live music events. To reach Fort George from the town of Vis, head north towards Hotel Issa which you’ll pass on your left. Continuing up the hill, you’ll reach a sharp turn followed by a fork in the road, at which you should go right. Walking will take twenty minutes, cycling ten minutes, and driving five.
