With around half of the boats sailing in their first World Cruising Club rally and the others having sailed with WCC before, it’s a great mix of crews from many countries, and boats from an Albin Vega 27′ to a Lagoon 620!
The bulk of the fleet is starting from Nanny Cay in the BVI, which will look and feel a little different this year with the opening of the new outer marina development.
Back in December, there was an opening ceremony for phase one and now 41 of the planned 120 slips are open.
If you have been to Nanny Cay before, the entrance to the marina will look a little different, and if you are coming to Nanny Cay for the first time it will likely look different to your charts and cruising guides.
The plan on the right shows the new marina to the east of the ‘old’ marina with the proposed townhouses (not built yet) on the breakwater.
The image below, in particular, shows the new channel marks that now mark the approach to Nanny Cay.
