Barletta : Profile

Location

The old part of this town is a very attractive medieval fishing port. It has now expanded into a large modern city on the landward side. It is a good port of call for yachts and located just south of the promontory of Gargano.

Position 41°19.9'N, 16°17.5'E.

Clearance

The Harbourmaster and Customs have their offices and the base of the western mole.

The Police office is in the town.

Docking

Shelter here is very good, although some swell inters the harbour in strong N and NW winds.

Check with the harbourmaster for the most suitable berth. This is likely to be on in the NW corner, on the west mole.

There is a good anchorage in the eastern part of the harbour in firm mud.
