Stronsay - General Info
Where is Stronsay?
Stronsay lies roughly seven miles north of Mull Head on the East Mainland in Orkney. It is about seven miles long by six miles wide overall, but it is deeply indented with bays. Almost 400 inhabitants live on the island, many of whom are engaged in fishing. It has several dramatic rock stacks and many rare plants and birds.
Entrance Notes and Cautions for Stronsay:
Whitehall is the port and is used by the daily car ferry to Kirkwall. This is situated on the Grice Ness peninsula between Mill Bay and Papa Sound, sheltered from the NE by the small island of Papa Stronsay.
