Ullapool lies on the shores of Loch Broom and was built in 1788 by Thomas Telford to service the herring fishing industry. Although no longer the thriving centre it once was, the harbour is still the centre of activity in this neat, attractive, planned town.
Contact the Harbour Master for information regarding a berth. The harbour can get congested during the summer. There is a good anchorage E of the pier and also in Loch Kanaird, north of the entrance to Loch Broom.
