Mossel Bay : Profile
This harbour is located about half way between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, on South Africa's southern coast.
Corrected Position 34°10'30.86" S, 22° 8'43.73" E.
This is not a Port of Entry and if calling here no itinery will need to be lodged when leaving.

There is a small marina belonging to the Mossel Bay yacht club within the harbour and an anchorage in the bay just to the north of the harbour.

The berths in the marina are allocated to members and there may not be any places for visitors. It is best to contact the club in advance.
However, the Port Captain is most helpful in finding a berth somewhere for you.
The anchorage in front of the yacht club is good in all but north easterlies.
Yachts now have to pay port dues.
Daytime Arrival:
Contact Port Control on VHF channel 16 who will direct you to Port working frequency VHF channel 12.
Inform them of your arrival and they will contact a Yacht club Committee Member for the neccesay arrangements.
Night time arrival - with prior arrangement:
Port Control radio watch is now 24/7
Contact Port Control and inform them of your arrival and to receive permission to berth on the allocted mooring.
(All manouvers within the channel or harbour must use the appropriate sound signals).
Night time arrival - with no prior arrangement:
Contact Port Control and inform them of your arrival.
You will not be allowed in the harbour to berth at the Marina.
You must anchor in the bay until the following day, when further arrangements can be made.
