  Harbour Island : Profile

Location

Harbour Island is located off the northeast coast of Eleuthera.

It is a quiet place, only three miles long and half mile wide. Historic and picturesque Dunmore Town is the original capital of the Bahamas. The island has beautiful pink beaches and great diving, as well as fishing.

Harbour Island is not a usual stopover for cruisers. With the wind mostly coming from the east the entrance is tricky. Sailors coming from the Caribbean on their way to the US might find it a convenient place to rest and stock up though.

Clearance
